Monday Munchies: Pie alert in Bentonville

Here's Alex. I'm happy to announce that a new bakery has opened in Northwest Arkansas. And this one is a pie specialist.

Feel: Bentonville's Piehouse Bakery aims to be an authentic, vintage bakery where customers can purchase pies, cakes, and other baked goods to-go

or enjoy a cozy café experience with ceiling-mounted rolling pins while sipping coffee and enjoying a delectable dessert or savory breakfast options like quiche.

Piehouse offers over 20 varieties of pies, available for purchase as a whole ($29) or as a slice ($6.50).

I don't always need a whole cake or pie, was my thinking bubble. One slice will probably find a use for me, and I'm sure many of my fellow sugar addicts feel the same way. It's good to have a place where we can have dessert anytime we want.

It was obvious that the blueberry dessert was of excellent quality, prepared by a pie enthusiast. That stuff has whole blueberries in it. The only thing I regretted was leaving out an ice cream scoop.

Indeed, but: Whole pies in all the traditional flavors are designed for the world's busy people who promised to bring dessert. Nobody is going to be upset with you for not making it yourself.
